1) While visiting our Lt Governor awarded Dr Scott Mescher, of the Hibbing Club was awarded the Region 3 Kiwanian of the Month of January, for his many contributions to their club of approximately 26.
Barb also delivered a patch to the Hibbing Key Club for sponsoring attendees to the KeyLeader program.
We don't have a picture of Tom Norman, He was awarded Kiwanian of the month of February, and he has made a great impact in the Brainerd Club.
I'm forwarding a picture from Marwin of our April Kiwanian of the Month, Jerome Haaland, from the Little Falls Club, it does have a picture attached.
Our Region has had a momentous event. Our Gitche Gumee Club of Duluth has added its first two female members in March. They are hoping this will be a trend and the wonderful ladies will encourage more women to join. This is very exciting for this Region, community and club. We are holding our second annual Rubber Ducky Race on Miller Creek in Lincoln Park, Duluth on Saturday May 31. The event will start with live music and a family picnic (bring your own picnic lunch) at 12 Noon followed by the Duck Race at 1 PM. Certificates of Participation (with numbers corresponding to the numbers on the rubber ducks that will be dropped into Miller Creek) will go on sale at $5 ea., starting April 10. Funds raised by our Gitche Gumee Kiwanis Club will be used to support Reading is Fundamental (RIF) programs in the Lincoln Park school and community.
This is an invitation to your Kiwanis club to partipate in selling the $5 Certificates of Participation. For each ticket your club sells, we will return to you 80 percent of the race profits after race costs have been recovered. It is estimated that you would receive between $3 and $4 for each Certtificate sold by your club.
If your club is interested in selling tickets, please respond with the following information:

2. The Charity your club would support with the profits
3. The number of Certificates your club would like to sell
