Port of Duluth shipped care packages to troops in Iraq. Practical items and special holiday items will arrive in time for Christmas.

A yearly combination of fundraiser and service project by the Kiwanis Club of the Port of Duluth, Region 3.

The pancake, sausages, juice, milk, and coffee breakfast kicks off at 7:00 a.m. Santa is at his post and Mrs. Claus is there to help him out with the many children that have come to eat, see Santa, and leave with a free book. About 9:00 a.m. the Duluth Community Band comes in - in full force to play favorite Christmas carols, and flashbulbs are ready in case Santa asks Mrs. Claus for a short dance. What is it we hear now? - the bagpipes, and after that a singalong with Gerry Oulette and his guitar. With the help of the St. Scholastica Circle K and the Denfeld Key Club, the POD Kiwanis club will provide families with a great way to kick up their holiday spirit while supporting children's programs in the community by purchasing tickets.

The Brainerd Kiwanis Club presents awards to students for Bringing Up Grades.

St. Cloud Kiwanis held the second annual fundraiser for Kids Against Hunger.  This included a banquet, silent auction, wine tasting and outstanding entertainment. 

Twenty elementary students were honored by the Brainerd Kiwanis club for their good school activities at the annual BUG (Bringing Up Grades) dinner at Bonanza on Tues. May 10.

Karen Richgruber accepts the $1,000 donation to Kaleidoscope, a summer entertainment series that provides free programming for children.

We welcome Barb Fisher as the newest Lt. Governor for region 3. She will become the Lt. Governor elect for 2006-2007.

The Buffalo Kiwanis Club is preparing for another fund raiser this year. We have had two successfull flower sales and now it is time for the "Kiwanis Snak Shak" at the Buffalo Arts and Crafts Sale in August. This is the fifth year the Buffalo Club has provided delicious meals for the crowd as well as the vendors. Breakfast burritos, brats and hotdogs are available as well as a variety of soft drinks and water. The sale's profits goes to the two $500.00 scholarships awarded to the Buffalo High School grads every year. The Buffalo club also awards grants to various local groups including the Boy and Girl Scouts, Crisis Nursery, The Joy Center, Rivers of Hope, Make a Wish as well as individuals who have a special need for funding. This club is extremely active considering it's size....only 12 members strong. We may be small but we try to make a big difference for our kids. So if you are around the Buffalo, Minnesota area on August 12th, stop in and visit with your fellow Kiwanians and try the Breakfast burrito....YUMMY !!!!!

Eleven Clubs and three Key Clubs participated in the First One Day One Way One K World Wide Service Project.  We partnered with the Lake Superior Zoo, which also serves our Region and their annual Easter Egg Hunt.
