Governor’s Message
Welcome to the Minnesota-Dakotas District Website.
The Minnesota Dakotas District of Kiwanis International is a group of 5,000 plus women and men dedicated to doing our part to change the world, “One child and one community at a time.” As members of more than 150 clubs across Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and in Superior Wisconsin; we work within our communities doing service projects that address specific needs of those communities. The slogan of Kiwanis is “Serving the Children of the World” with an emphasis on children from 0 to 5 years of age. Kiwanis is designed for individuals who desire to learn more about and provide hands on service to their communities. Our clubs support many worthy community projects such as playgrounds, parks, swimming pools, hospitals, long term care facilities, food banks and many others.
The International organization has clubs in more than 70 nations and has nearly 300,000 members. Kiwanis International is unmatched in programs offering opportunities for young people to grow in leadership skills; learn about themselves and their communities and provide valuable service to those communities. Clubs in the Minnesota Dakotas District support Kiwanis Kids clubs (for elementary students), Builders clubs (for middle school students), Key clubs (for high school students) and Circle K clubs (for college students) and Aktion clubs (for adults with disabilities). As a Kiwanis member, you have the opportunity to be a role model for these young people.
Membership in a Kiwanis club will also give you the chance to meet other local business people and concerned community leaders. It also will give you the opportunity to contribute to the improvement of your community. Please explore our website. If you are interested in learning more about the rewards of membership, use any of the contact opportunities provided.
Enjoy your tour and thank you for visiting!

What if you could save a baby's life?
With The Eliminate Project, you can. Maternal and neonatal tetanus (MNT) kills one baby every nine minutes. But three doses of a 60-cent vaccine can protect mothers and babies. Kiwanis and UNICEF have joined forces to bring this vaccine to 38 countries, eliminating MNT from the face of the Earth. What can you do right now? Learn about MNT and advocate for the cause. Participate in our fundraisers. Over the next few years, the work we do will change the world. Find out more at www.TheEliminateProject.org.
